If you've read the instructions and are ready to apply to book your event, here's the form.

Running a meeting

  • Encourage people to become members and get involved with the Common Place at the start or end of every meeting!  Direct them to the membership forms and the website!
  • Leave the place how you would like to find it
    • Put back any furniture you've moved
    • Clean/wash up any kitchen stuff you've used (eg mugs)
  • Lock all doors and switch off everything except the fridge and the boiler.  Double check that the heater and the cooker are off.

Booking process and form explained

  • The Common Place invites any and all members to get involved with working groups, such as the bookings collective.  Therefore the person running the emails could be brand new or an old hand, someone you do know or don't know.  Please bear this in mind and introduce yourself and your event when contacting This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

  • Do It Yourself! All events need a Co-ordinator, which is a member of the Common Place who has been inducted to hold Meetings (non-licensed events).  That person is responsible for the building during their event, and responsible for making sure the event is conducted in accordance with the Club Rules.  We need your contact details to help you sort the event out.

  • Take a look at the calendar and pick a time to have your meeting.  For meetings, two groups can use the building at the same time, just contact the co-ordinator of the other meeting and discuss it with them.

  • We need to know what publicity you want on the calendar.  If you have a flier, email it to us for the website.  If you want us to email out to the commonplaceannounce email list, make sure to ask us.

The booking process is as follows:
i. Check you are an inducted current member
ii. Confirm that your organisation/funding status fits with our ethos (this may need to go to a Collective Meeting.)
iii. Confirm the time and date with you.
iv. Organise access to the building for your meeting.
