Discussion, information, food, chat and action on climate change... Come and talk about what we can do/what's already happening about climate change practically, politically, socially, locally and nationally in friendly and informal surroundings. This week...Climate Camp discussion...lots Of Leeds and Yorkshire folk were at the amazingCamp for Climate Actionat Kingsnorth this summer, whether you were there or have been inspired by hearing about it come along to discuss what we can do here inYorkshire. We open at 6.45pm, with about an hour of talk/open discussion from 7pm then a cheap, delicous (vegan) meal and plenty of time to discuss and chat over a cuppa.
Climate Chaos Cafe started in Leeds in 2007, it aspires to open doors for discussions on issues that affect all of us, so we can learn from each other. We saw an urgent need to address the lag between a few people understanding and most of us gripping the causes and implications of climate change, and what can be done to tackle them. It is less about experts and more about sharing knowledge and information in an open and comfortable environment. We also try to focus on what can be done locally, linking global issues to local campaigns and groups that aim to address them.
Help is also always welcome with setting up, cooking and clearing up: CCC is a collaborative effort from all who are there. It's also a great way to find out what is happening around climate change issues in Leeds and meet lots of other people. Come along anytime after 5.30pm to help cook. It would be great to see you there.
