Climate Chaos Cafe PLUS Climate Camp Yorkshire neighbourhood assembly
Wednesday, 21 May 2008, 18:45 - 21:30

This week: Is it too late? (exploring positive responses!).

Climate Chaos Cafe is a series of informal talks and discussions with a delicious meal. It started in Leeds in 2007, aspiring to open doors for discussions on issues that affect all of us, so we can learn from each other. It is less about experts and more about sharing knowledge and information in an open and comfortable environment. We also focus on what can be done locally, linking global issues to local campaigns and groups that aim to address them as well as providing a space where people wanting to take action on climate change can meet, talk and make plans.

We'd love to hear from you if you have ideas about further discussions. Help is also always welcome with setting up, cooking and clearing up: CCC is a collaborative effort from all who are there. It's also a great way to find out what is happening around climate change issues in Leeds and meet lots of other people. Just come along anytime after 5.30 id you'd like to help out. It would be great to see you there.

PLUS

The first camp for climate action Yorkshire neighbourhood assembly!

Stepping into the shoes of the Climate Chaos café series, there will be three big meetings in the lead-up to the camp. There will be delicious vegan food and a short talk. In addition these event will be a place where people can:

*Find out about the Climate Camp
*Meet people to travel and camp with
*Get involved in local organising for the camp
*Get involved nationally and internationally (there are 7 camps across the world this summer)
*Meet people involved in all aspects of the climate crisis and positive solution to it

The Camp for Climate Action, will this be from 3-11 August, near Kingsnorth, Kent. The Camp is clustered into regions called neighbourhoods, so people can camp, eat and socialise together in a group of a few-hundred people. Yorkshire will be one neighbourhood, which we will also use this space to organise for.

for more information about the camp for climate action go to:

Next assemblies: June 18th and July 9th
