Campaigning against detention, deportation and destitution and for an end to immigration controls. Sharing information, support and friendship.
Leeds No Borders works in solidarity with asylum seekers, refugees and migrants in Leeds and beyond. We are committed to practical solidarity, mutual aid and direct action in the fight against deportations, detentions, poverty and racism. We are part of a growing network rooted in the belief that all immigration controls are racist and divisive and should be opposed and, ultimately, abolished. We are an open, democratic and volunteer-run group always looking for new faces to get involved. Please contact us or come down to one of our meetings – we’re a friendly bunch from all over the world. We organise campaigns and demonstrations, regularly demonstrate outside Waterside (Home Office reporteing centre), have social events, join national events such as the No Borders Camp, run workshops and work with lots of other organisations across Leeds. Informal organising meetings every other Wednesday 7-9pm In 2008: August 6th and 20th, September 3rd and 17th, October 1st 15th and 29th, November 12th and 26th, December 10th Anti-deportation drop-in (information, support) every other Tuesday 5-7pm Leeds No Borders anti-deportation drop-in is a friendly, infomal place for anyone wanting help & support - asylum seekers, refugees, other migrants and friends/supporters.
